I’ve been waiting to pull out my heavy coats paired with boots and a beanie or a cute scarf, but this city won’t let me make it. We’ve literally had two days that were coat-worthy in the last month and I missed the chance to be cute on both of them because I wasn’t prepared. While it may not be cold enough for a full jacket, I was at least able to get away with this long-line Topshop vest (that’s currently 50% off) and a turtleneck while downtown for a branding seminar. I’m working on a post that will summarize what I learned since I’m sure it will be beneficial to many of you.
As mentioned in this post, dark lips are my go-to when the temperature drops. The same goes for the hues I wear when it’s cooler. Black, olive and camel tones are what I normally rotate, but I couldn’t pass this wine colored vest up when I saw it in Nordstrom. Any and everything burgundy works for me from October until February, including lips, nails and accessories. What really makes it stand out is it’s blue lining and gold buttons. It’s elaborate enough to be worn on it’s own and simple enough to be paired with denim, worn over a dress or with a pencil skirt and blouse.
These booties are BCBG but I purchased them because they’re nearly identical to a pair of Gianvito Rossi peep toe booties I wasn’t willing to splurge on. No point in me paying $900 for a pair of shoes I won’t be able to wear in 80 degree weather, right? These high waisted pants are J Brand and my favorite, but of course I found an identical pair for $65. Nordstrom Rack always has J Brand denim for under $100. I suggest looking around before paying full price.
There are two weeks left in 2016 and I still haven’t started Christmas shopping for my family. Where has the time gone?! I legitimately need two assistants and an intern LOL. If you know of any good deals, send them my way. I need all the help I can get 😉
